The Best Annual Report and Transparency Award (BARTA) ceremony 2024 was held with the support of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia (ISSSG)

The Best Annual Report and Transparency Award (BARTA) ceremony 2024 was held with the support of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia (ISSSG). The annual competition aims to enhance the quality of corporate reporting and transparency in Georgia within the European and global context. It is implemented with the support of the World Bank’s Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR, Vienna, Austria) under the Enhancing Accounting, Auditing and Sustainability Reporting in Enterprise (EAASURE) program.

This year, the Best Annual Report and Transparency Award (BARTA) was granted to the following companies: JSC TBC Bank, JSC Bank of Georgia, JSC TBC Leasing, JSC Crystal, JSC Georgian Railway, JSC BasisBank, JSC Silknet, JSC ProCredit Bank, MFO Micro Business Capital, and LLC Tegeta Motors.

The BARTA awards ceremony was attended by representatives from the Insurance State Supervision Service, the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank of Georgia, the Service for Accounting, Reporting and Auditing Supervision, BARTA’s partner organizations and other distinguished guests.

The event was opened by Rolande Pryce, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus; Ekaterine Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia; and Ekaterine Mikabadze, Vice President of the National Bank of Georgia. As part of the ceremony, a presentation was held on the selection methodology, process and criteria, moderated by Paul Thompson, Chairman of the BARTA Jury and President of the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors for SMEs.

BARTA was established in 2019 under the Joint Financial Inclusion and Accountability project of the European Union and the World Bank. It serves as one of the leading platforms for sharing information, insights and ideas, bringing together large financial and non-financial companies, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

For reference: In the World Bank’s 2024 “Business Ready” (B-READY) rankings, Georgia ranks among the top three countries, alongside Singapore and Estonia, out of 50 evaluated nations.
