David Onoprishvili Participates in the Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum
David Onoprishvili, Chairman of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia and Eter Papiashvili, Head of the Licensing and Registration Division are participating in the Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum (AIIF 2026), which is taking place in Baku on June 24-25.
The forum brings together representatives from the insurance sector, supervisory authorities, international organizations and financial institutions. It addresses contemporary trends in insurance market development, reinsurance, pension systems, life and health insurance, bancassurance and insurance brokerage. A separate session was dedicated to education, training and professional development within the insurance field.
The session dedicated to pension systems holds particular significance for Georgia. The international experience and practical approaches presented by various countries during this session will support the further development of Georgia's ongoing pension reform and the refinement of its supervisory practices.
As part of the event, David Onoprishvili, Chairman of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia, held a meeting with his Azerbaijanian counterpart, Vusal Gurbanov and the Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Insurance Association, Abas Miskarli. Meetings were also held with representatives of supervisory authorities from various countries to discuss opportunities for sharing experience, deepening professional cooperation and future joint initiatives.
The forum is also being attended by representatives of Georgian insurance companies, which helps strengthen international professional networks, develop cooperation in reinsurance and integrate the Georgian insurance sector with international markets.
